┬Ā The biggest difference between Webtoon and drama is the character settings. As a character played by Park Yoo Na, Kang Su JinŌĆÖs change in personality is the biggest example of such. In the drama, Kang Su Jin is an ideal student who grew up in a wealthy family, and unlike Im Ju Kyung (Moon Ga Young), she is not interested in dressing her appearance up. She and Lee Su Ho (Chan Eun Woo) were friends since they were little, but at the same time, they compete with each other to be the top student of the school. Meanwhile, in the Webtoon, Kang Su Jin appears to be from a poor and impoverished family, as she tries to compensate for her insecurities by taking care of her looks. Feeling an inferiority complex towards Im Ju Kyung, who is pretty, Kang Su Jin often shows her body off through SNS. Lee Su Ho only briefly appears as a middle school friend of hers. ┬Ā ┬Ā The drama made changes so that Im Ju Kyung and Lee Su Ho become the main focus within the love triangle. This means that the dramaŌĆÖs romance will be promoted with Im Ju Kyung and Lee Su Ho as its mains. Hence, the chances for Han Seo Jun (Hwang In Yeop) and Im Ju KyungŌĆÖs relationship to proceed seems to be slim. In the Webtoon, Im Ju Kyung and Han Seo Jun start to develop into lovers by the middle of the story, as it puts the plot of the love triangle in mystery. The fierce debate between ŌĆśTeam Su HoŌĆÖ and ŌĆśTeam Seo JunŌĆÖ for the Webtoon rose as readers predicted who Im Ju Kyung will finally end up with. ┬Ā The plot developments of the first part are also slightly different. In the original, Im Ju Kyung gets to know about makeup as she graduates middle school and enters Saebom High. Later, Im Ju Kyung and Lee Su Ho meet each other for the first time in a comic book store as they build intimacy over their common interests. On the other hand, the drama has set Im Ju Kyung to transfer to another school as she moves after her fatherŌĆÖs business failed. She meets Lee Su Ho for the first time as he saves her from killing herself from having low self-esteem about her looks. The plot unravels as Lee Su Ho, Han Seo Jun, and Kang Su Jin are revealed to be in the same class of the school that Im Ju Kyung transferred to. Though there were some concerns for True Beauty before its air, it is having a plain sail as it receives viewersŌĆÖ praises for being ŌĆ£a drama better than the original,ŌĆØ thanks to the actorsŌĆÖ appropriate performances and the buoyant directing.
