K-Pop: Demon Hunters is currently in development at Sony Animation.ŌĆØ They explained that the film ŌĆ£follows a world-renowned K-Pop girl group as they balance their lives in the spotlight with their secret identities as badass demon hunters.ŌĆØ K-Pop: Demon Hunters is directed by Maggie Kang, who participated in Lego Ninjago Movie, and Chris Appelhans who directed Wish Dragon. Aron Warner from Shrek will be the producer, while Mingjue Helen Chen from Raya and the Last Dragon and Big Hero 6 will be in charge as a production designer. Ami Thompson, also from Raya and the Last Dragon, will be participating as the art director. Sony Pictures Animation has previously produced Spider-Man: A New Universe. They also released a concept photo featuring three girl group members standing on the stage. Attention is focused as they are carrying weapons such as long swords and fans, in costumes reminiscent of the modernized hanbok from Black PinkŌĆÖs music video. According to Variety, K-Pop: Demon Hunters is an action-adventure animation that will feature a variety of fashion, food, styles, and music, based on K-Pop.
